The goal of Service and Outreach is to provide an opportunity for parishioners to work together with a common mission of giving back in a variety of ways. Time and Talent are always welcome – plus it is a great way to meet new people and get involved!
St. Joseph has a strong commitment to service to our community and those in need.
St Joseph/Taneytown Outreach
The Carpenters Table and Carroll County Food Sunday have been an active Ecumenical outreach program in Taneytown for many years. Since Covid, instead of serving a hot sit-down cooked meal at St. Joseph's parish hall every Thursday, Trinity Lutheran Church is the facility to distribute packed lunches to the needy in the community every Thursday. Currently, eight different ecumenical churches participate in this program on a rotating basis.
Carroll County Food Sunday is also hosted by Trinity Lutheran Church. Trinity has a food locker at the rear entrance to the church. Contributions of canned food items can be placed there at any time. There is always a need for canned fruit, canned vegetables, macaroni and cheese, but expecially peanut butter, jelly and canned soup.
